It attracts participation from many Sports Clubs and sporting individuals from all over the country and clubs from London, Walsall, Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds etc make it a must to attend.

Table Tennis/Badminton

The Table Tennis Club was set-up in December 1987 with regular sessions held at the Ramgarhia Hall. The Broadway, Southall.

The size of the hall with lack in changing rooms and showers facilities limit our membership and with its 20 current members the capacity to accommodate further expansion is providing extremely difficult. However, the club has to its credit the following achievements.

The Club team participates in Division ONE of the Local League (West Middlesex Table Tennis League). The team was the winners of the League and Knockout Cup in 1989 and was promoted from the second division.

Sarah Williams, a fine player of our club has represented England Ladies Team in her age group (under 14 years). Sarah Williams is the Middlesex Girl Under 17 years Champion and plays for Middlesex Country.

Hockey - History

Another Success story emerges from our Hockey Club, which trains every Wednesday at the Dairy Meadows Astro turf pitch. Membership in hockey has increased dramatically since our Club team’s overall win in the Guru Nanak Field Hockey tournament commemorating the American Independence Day at California State University Los Angeles in July 1988. The team successfully defended its position yet again in 1989.

The Hockey Section also has to its credit the following achievements.

London Youth Games held at Crystal Palace. Our Hockey team won a GOLD Medals for the London Borough of Ealing in the years 1983, 1984 and 1985. They were runners up in 1981.

Winners in MERCIAN Home Counties Colts league Under 18 Championships 1980 and 1981.

The team is also participating in the PERONI South Middlesex league, with the prospect of being promoted to the Divisional League. We are now progressing to set up two teams A and B, which would require additional training locations and appropriate facilities.

How it all began!!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

The Ramgarhia Sports Club (RSC) came into being around 1974 when certain members of the community with interests in sports and games agreed to offer their free time and experience to train and develop the younger members of the community in sports like hockey and karate.

Considerable interest was shown by the young generation and within a short time the coaching sessions and classes in sports ran to full capacity, and the need to deploy additional staff became necessary. Scheduling of the coaching sessions on a weekly basis was the only way available to contain the enthusiasm of the young participants, some of whom came from places as far away as Harrow, Greenford, Wembley, Hayes, Uxbridge, Hanwell, Ealing, Brentford and even Watford in Hertfordshire.

In the absence of adequate facilities, newer facilities to accommodate for the rising membership became e a paramount objective. As a consequence various locations had to be found where indoor training and sports could be undertaken.
